Opening weekend $124 Million, third-biggest debut of 2026!
Christopher Nolan both wrote and directed this epic masterpiece of film. I cant think of a better way to spend 173 minutes this Summer. How do you bring an Ancient Greek poem written in the 8th century to life?

Matt Damon (Odysseus), Christopher Nolan (Film Director), Anne Hathaway (Penelope) Penelope (Anne Hathaway)
Mr. Nolan has long established himself as one of the best film directors in the world. His 13th installment delivers in a very big way. The Odyssey boasts a well known cast, starring Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson and Lupita Nyong'o. He probably could have saved the studio a few bucks on casting, but when you are trying to get people in the IMAX seats at $25 a pop, it doesn't hurt to have more than a few marquis names involved.
The viewers should remind themselves that this is the director's realistic interpretation of ancient Greek Mythology. I think part of the reason why Nolan writes and directs his films is because he is the only one who can outline his interpretation....it's a creative control thing. Clearly he has a successful formula that seems to bear fruit on every outing. Make no mistake this is an action, fantasy thriller on steroids, you are going to see some things you have not seen before. The film does have a few dry parts, however the well crafted story line and up tempo pace over rides and delivers a highly satisfying and entertaining piece of art on film.
Thank you Christopher Nolan for reminding people in Hollywood what real film making is all about!
